FAQ

Who is eligible to play on these teams?

Any student from the following schools is eligible to play for the Indianapolis Junior Braves.

St. Malachy, St. Monica, The Orchard School, The Oaks School, St. Richards Episcopal, New Augusta Academy, and The Sycamore School.

Additionally, any player that does not have a place to play in the Indianapolis Metro area will be allowed to play for the Junior Braves.

*If you currently attend any of these schools and play for another team, you have the option to stay with your current program.

Do you require Tryouts?

We do not require tryouts to play for our teams, but space on the teams is limited to 20-24 per team. We will carry a U12 and U14 team. Once the registration opens, and spots are filled, the registration will close.

Who are the Coaches?

The program will have oversight from the Brebeuf Jesuit Athletic Department and Brebeuf Lacrosse Coaching staff. All coaches will have proper background checks and hiring process as well as all coaches certified by US Lacrosse.

All Coaches will have former playing and coaching experience in the Junior Braves Program.

When does the Season Start?

Practice for both U12 & U14 will start in early March at Brebeuf Jesuit in the weekday evenings. The season will last until Mid-May with an end of season State Tournament sponsored by the IYLA.

Practice will typically be 1.5 hours, and be 2-3 during the week (Monday-Wednesday). Games will be during the week and possible weekends games as well.

What will the cost be?

The cost to participate on our teams will be as minimal as possible to support the mission of the program. We want to provide a positive, growth oriented experience, and we do not want cost to be a deciding factor. An example of costs below would be similar to many other youth sports.
